The Discord toolkit lets agents send messages (bot or webhook), list guilds, channels, members, and roles, create or rename channels, manage roles, and moderate members (kick, ban, unban). Authentication uses a Discord bot token saved as a connection (not OAuth).
Add it on the agent Toolkits tab and create or select a Discord connection with your bot token.
Prerequisites
- A Discord application and bot from the Discord Developer Portal
- The bot invited to the target server(s) with the permissions the agent needs
- Server Members Intent enabled if you need member listing
- An agent you can edit
Setup
- Create a Discord application → Bot → copy the bot token.
- Invite the bot to your server with the required permissions (and enable privileged intents if needed).
- Open the agent → Toolkits → add Discord.
- Create a connection and paste the bot token.
- Save the agent.
@-mention Discord tools in the personality prompt for server tasks.

Use cases
- Post release or incident notices to a channel
- Create a temporary channel for a project and rename it later
- Assign or remove roles during onboarding
- Moderate spam with kick/ban tools when policy allows
Tips
- Role tools need Manage Roles and the bot's role must sit above roles it manages.
- Prefer webhook send for simple announcements when you already have a webhook URL.
- Store the bot token in a saved connection — do not put it in the personality prompt.
- Access is limited to servers and channels the bot can see.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | What to check |
|---|
| Unauthorized / invalid token | Regenerate the bot token and update the connection |
| Empty member list | Enable Server Members Intent and re-invite if needed |
| Cannot manage roles | Bot role hierarchy and Manage Roles permission |
| Cannot send to channel | Bot can view/send in that channel; confirm channel ID |
