AITable Toolkit

The AITable toolkit (also known as APITable) lets agents list spaces and datasheets, read and write records, inspect fields and views, and call the Fusion API for advanced operations. It works with AITable Cloud or a self-hosted instance URL.

Add it on the agent Toolkits tab, connect an API token, then reference tools with @ in the personality prompt.

Prerequisites

  • An AITable (or self-hosted APITable) account
  • An API token from User Center → Developer Configuration
  • Optional instance URL for self-hosted deployments (default cloud host is https://aitable.ai)
  • An agent you can edit

The token inherits the account’s permissions on spaces and datasheets.

Setup

  1. Create or copy an API token in AITable.
  2. Open the agent → Toolkits → add AITable.
  3. Create or select a connection:
    • API token (required)
    • Instance URL (optional; set for self-hosted)
  4. Save, @-mention AITable tools in the personality prompt, and test by listing spaces.

Available tools

ToolDescription
List SpacesLists workspaces/spaces the token can access.
List DatasheetsLists datasheets in a space.
Get RecordsReads records with optional view, filter formula, sort, and pagination (page size up to 1000).
Create RecordsCreates one or more records in a datasheet.
Update RecordsUpdates records by record ID and fields.
Delete RecordsDeletes records by ID. Irreversible.
Get FieldsReturns field/schema definitions for a datasheet.
Get ViewsLists views for a datasheet.
Custom API CallAuthenticated Fusion API request (GET, POST, PATCH, DELETE) for endpoints without a dedicated tool.

Use cases

  • Browse spaces and datasheets, then pull rows for an operational briefing
  • Create or update records from a chat workflow (intake, CRM-lite, ops boards)
  • Inspect field schema before writing typed values
  • Point a self-hosted AITable URL at the same toolkit for on-prem data

Tips

  • Start with List Spaces → List Datasheets → Get Fields before bulk writes.
  • Prefer confirmation before Delete Records.
  • If a filter looks like a record ID (rec…), the toolkit can treat it as a record-id filter.
  • For Airtable Cloud bases, use the Airtable toolkit instead.
  • Keep API tokens out of prompts and shared artifacts.
